O Escritório USP Mulheres convida para a sessão Women in STEM, organizada
pela WREN (Women’s Research Engineers Network) na Conferência Anual da UGPN – University Global Partnership Network, que acontece no dia 17 de março das 18h às 19h. A professora Adriana Alves, coordenadora do Escritório USP Mulheres, parceiro e promotor da WREN desde sua criação, participará da abertura do evento.
A sessão Women in STEM tem como objetivo discutir as desigualdades de gênero e a experiência de financiamentos internacionais para pesquisadoras nas carreiras de Ciências, Tecnologia, Engenharias e Matemática com representantes das quatro universidades que compõem a rede UGPN.
Após a breve apresentação da rede WREN, a professora Julie Yeomans, University of Surrey, fará uma explanação inicial sobre o cenário de equidade, diversidade e inclusão em projetos de pesquisa com colaboração internacional. Na sequência, haverá um painel com pesquisadoras que obtiveram financiamento da UGPN nos últimos anos; nele, representantes das quatro universidades compartilharão suas experiências, as conexões feitas com as demais instituições para obter financiamento e estratégias para fortalecer colaborações internacionais. A professora Valentina Martelli (IF-USP) participará desse painel com as pesquisadoras das demais universidades.
Toda a sessão será em inglês e não haverá tradução simultânea.

Sobre a Conferência Anual da UGPN
A University Global Partnership Network (UGPN) promoverá, entre os dias 14 e 24 de março de 2022, a UGPN Virtual Conference 2022.
Fundada em 2011, a UGPN – University Global Partnership Network é uma rede acadêmica que se propõe a criar uma base para a colaboração internacional em questões de importância global, formada por quatro universidades: North Carolina State University (NCSU), University of Surrey (UK); University of Wollongong (Austrália) e Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
Com o objetivo de reunir pesquisadoras e pesquisadores das universidades parceiras para promover e facilitar colaborações inovadoras em pesquisa e educação e financiar projetos em chamadas de pesquisa, a UGPN organiza encontros anuais sobre temas relevantes para o Ensino Superior e áreas de pesquisa-chave para a rede.
Neste ano, um dos temas centrais da Conferência é a sustentabilidade em pesquisa e educação e, para isso, contará com uma programação de palestras, painéis, sessões de networking em grupos de interesse especial e workshops em tópicos de pesquisa e inovação.

This workshop will describe recent insights into gender diversity within the UGPN’s past and present collaborations and seeks to improve women in STEM representation in the 2022-23 round of grants. In this panel we will hear about success stories and what we can learn from others’ their experiences.The story of the Women’s Research Engineers Network (WREN) – a collaboration between UOW and USP – to improve awareness of gender inequality in STEM, to provide networking opportunities for global collaboration and to give women a platform to have their voices heard.Don’t know how to get started in a collaborative UGPN team? Want to hear some tips for successful proposals and research collaborations?
